PhD Defence: Camilla Wong Schmidt
Using an ethnographic approach that included semi-structured interviews and field observations, this study examined the needs, values, and preferences of individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who were supported by 24/7 digital health services. It also explored the communities in which these individuals participated. The competencies and skills required for registered nurses operating a 24/7 digital health service were also examined to identify what is necessary to effectively support individuals with COPD in such a service. This finding resulted in a case-based learning program for health professionals to better support people with long-term health conditions who are invited to use digital health services.
The Section for Health Services Research will host a reception after the defense.
